Casual Learning Support Worker

We are currently seeking Learning Support Workers to sign up to our ‘Bank of Staff’ to help provide short and long term support to students. The post holders will be responsible for working with learners who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities to enable them to access their course, leading to greater learner retention and achievement. The post holders will be expected to use their skills to support, mentor and guide the learner(s) in their learning, to work as a member of the Additional Learning Support team, and to work with teaching staff and other college support staff. You will work in accordance with the quality and safeguarding requirements of the organisation. You will maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the department by following the Data Protection procedures and be aware of confidential issues linked to home, pupil, lecturer, and College work and ensure the confidentiality of such sensitive information. Holding Level 2 (or equivalent) qualifications in Maths and English will be an essential requirement for this role (or the commitment to gaining within 12 months). You will be highly motivated, comfortable working independently and eager to ensure the ALS function is effective and efficient. You will also be a strong team player who can establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and students.
