An interesting and varied role, the successful candidate will report to the Auction Manager and the Director of Disposals, to assist within our small, independent, professional team. Typically, the work involves detailed note-taking of assets, and the preparation, marketing and sale of machinery and business assets by online auction from sites around the South of England. We are looking for a highly motivated, versatile, and principled individual to join our busy practice. The ideal candidate will be a multi-skilled intelligent individual with excellent literacy and numeracy skills and will have a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as a willingness to learn to use our specialist online auction software. Social media marketing and first-aid safety experience would also be hugely beneficial, and they must have a keen eye for detail with a ‘hands on’, ‘can do’ attitude.
Although the position will be based in our Farnham office, the applicant must be practical and able to work on their own initiative, be prepared to travel to sites around the South East of England and occasionally beyond with overnight stays. A full UK driving license is essential. Initially shadowing colleagues, it is expected that they will be able to work more independently and over time, and for the right candidate possibly commence training to become a RICS registered valuer.
The role will also include meeting with clients, purchasers and other professionals and the candidate will therefore need to be personable, presentable and have excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, the position may suit applicants with previous experience in engineering, accounting, logistics, surveying, marketing or business advisory and all are encouraged to apply.
Interested candidates should email firstname.lastname@example.org advising why you believe you could be a suitable fit for the role, attaching a copy of your CV. All enquiries will be treated in strict confidence.
