Key Responsibilities To identify, develop and review preferred climate metrics that enable an assessment of the impact of climate change on the Group's investments and for evaluating the success of the Group's management actions. To lead the development of climate related targets in the context of the Group's investment portfolio; this includes the development of science-based targets and managing the SBTi target validation and ongoing reporting process. To oversee the decarbonisation trajectory of the Group's investment portfolio against publicly stated targets and to develop a monitoring and reporting framework; to collaborate with other teams to develop and maintain a medium-term decarbonisation roadmap. To collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Central Sustainability team and Line 2) and present proposals and provide updates to senior stakeholders and Committees (e.g. CRO, CSO, Board Committees, TCFD Steering Committee) To horizon scan to keep abreast of market trends and best practice for managing investments with respect to climate risks and opportunities; to respond to industry consultations and to represent the companyexternally where appropriate (e.g. industry roundtable, at collaborative bodies such as SBTi where we are a member). Experience 10 years experrience in total with some time spent in a climate focused role a strong understanding of investment and risk management techniques including familiarity with different asset classes. understanding of 'ESG' as a concept and the role it plays for institutional investment Sound understanding of the principles of climate finance (how to measure finance emissions, decarbonisation techniques etc.). experience of institutional investments in an asset management, investment consultancy or in house (insurance/pension-fund) setting is ideal; understanding of life insurance business is a plus. • Strong numerical and quantitative background
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
• Proficient in use of MS Excel and other Office Applications
• CFA, actuarial or equivalent qualification.
