Position : Manufacturing Operative - Afters Location : Sheffield / Rotherham border Sector : Manufacturing / assembly / metals Hours of Work : Monday to Friday days, 2pm - 10pm You may be asked to work extra hours / shifts if the workload demands it. Shift allowances / overtime will be paid in these instances Pay : £13.00 per hour Benefits : 25 8 holidays, life assurance, workwear, pension Please note : This role requires long periods of standing. This role will require you to be able to lift and move products up to 25kg by hand. This is a permanent job and not a temporary role. The company has a very low staff turnover and this position has only come available due to the growth of the business. Potential duties :-
• Loading materials onto machines and unloading finished products
• Moving materials around the factory
• Operating machinery to carry out specific processes as part of the production
• Checking the quality and accuracy of products as they go through the production process
• Using verniers / micrometers / gauges to measure dimensions
• General housekeeping About You : -
• Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is essential. This ideally will be in an assembly type environment which includes metal based products
• Physically fit, able to stand for extended periods and to lift products up to 25kg
• Numerate, able to count accurately
• Able to follow work instructions accurately
• Able to use basic measuring equipment from tapes measures and rulers to gauges / verniers / micrometers
• Happy to help out in any area of the production process as needed
• Reliable, looking for long term security
• Own transport is beneficial although public transport from Sheffield is pretty good
