Job Description

We currently looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our Finance team based in Newton Abbot on a part-time basis, working 28.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

  • Setting up new customers and checking they meet our credit criteria
  • Invoicing
  • Reconciling the bank account daily
  • Processing online terminal transactions
  • Dealing with queries in the general accounts inbox
  • Responsibility of credit control function, including contacting and chasing up customers – especially those with aged debt
  • Attendance of monthly meeting with sales manager to report on debtors
  • Focus on reducing debtor days
  • Customer relations and retention
  • Adhoc analysis tasks
  • Liaising with other departments and offices to solve problems
  • Dealing with finance queries over the phone
  • Providing support and cover where needed


  • Previous credit control experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience in using finance software
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Ability to meet deadlines with a flexible attitude to work
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Problem solving skills
