House Manager - Abbeyfield Tavistock Society

Part-time (20 hours per week), Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure smooth and efficient operation of the house by coordinating and managing all housekeeping staff
  • To oversee catering services, maintaining efficiency and adherence to budget and 'Safer Food Better Business' Guidelines
  • To implement and maintain an effective handover process among house staff to ensure service continuity
  • To create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all residents, keeping them informed on house matters
  • To organize social activities that reflect Abbeyfield values and policies, consulting with residents and volunteer groups
  • To promote resident independence and community involvement in line with individual needs and abilities
  • To manage on-site staff, volunteers, tradespeople, and visitors effectively
  • To maintain accurate and up-to-date records and administration
  • To ensure all areas of the house meet Health and Safety and Environmental Health requirements

You Will Have:

  • Proven experience in house management or similar role
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food safety guidelines
  • A compassionate nature with a commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life
  • Proficiency in administrative tasks and record-keeping
