PART-TIME SHOP ROLE 

Frensham Village Shop

Would you like to join the team at a successful community shop & Post Office in a picturesque village in the Surrey Hills

Frensham Village Shop is at the heart of the community, and we are looking for a part-time employee to work approximately 12-20 hours per week. 

You will be joining the paid team of Shop manager and 3 part-time staff who work alongside an enthusiastic and supportive group of 50+ volunteers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Taking responsibility for the Post Office counter service for defined shifts
  • Taking responsibility for the shop counter service for defined shifts
  • Supporting the shop manager in the management of supplier orders, receipt of stock, input of invoices and maintenance of inventory records
  • Some basic bookkeeping duties
  • Cover for shop manager responsibilities when required
  • Providing cover for other staff when sick or on holiday

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERTISE:

  • Post Office counter work experience
  • Experience in retail/ hospitality 
  • Computer literate

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Friendly positive attitude with good customer facing skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team
  • Calm and confident manner
  • Reliable and trustworthy

PERKS:

PAY, HOURS AND HOLIDAYS:

  • £12.50 - £12.75 per hour
  • HOURS: 12-20 hours per week, including a minimum of one Saturday per month and providing cover for other staff when required
  • HOLIDAY: Pro-rated from a full time equivalent of 22 days per annum + 8 Bank Holidays
